In evaluating Tagovailoa’s season, Grier highlighted the quarterback’s growth as a leader. However, Tagovailoa’s first season after signing a four-year, $212.1 million extension was marred by injuries. He missed six games, four due to a concussion and the final two because of a hip injury.
